  • The People of Oenops

Oenops wine restaurant cellar was created by Antonis Papadatos and his partner Dimitris Vangelatos in 2015, at a time when the uncertainty, capital controls and the economic crisis in the country, offered nothing but fertile ground for business. Their faith in the project, perseverance, dedication, hard work and their “no risk no glory” philosophy brought on 28 August 2015 an innovative and beautiful multi-place, a reference point for wine and gastronomy lovers

In 2019, Dionysis Thomatos, until then a close associate and friend of Antonis and Dimitris, joined the business team.

Our name, “Oenops”, is inspired by the writings of the ancient Greek poet Homer, where the composition of the colours of the sunset is paralleled with the red colour of wine, hence the verdict kokkinopos.

It is located in a beautiful alley of Argostoli’s main pedestrian street, very close to the municipal theatre and the picturesque church of Aghios Spyridonos.

It has access from the central avenue George Vergoti and from the cobblestone street of the town when you meet Vangelatos Street (until recently Ithaca Street).

The minimal interior and exterior design, as well as the picturesqueness offered by the alleys surrounding the building in combination with the lovely garden of the courthouse that beautifies the neighborhood, make Oenops wine restaurant cellar the ideal choice for a dinner, a wine tasting or a combination of both, winter and summer.
